ABOUT

Freya Brylka-Mee is a national award winning midland based freelance harpist from Leicester, performing as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician.

 

Freya obtained her bachelors degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, under the tuition of Caryl Thomas and Kathryn Rees, where she gained a first class honours and was awarded the Royal Welch Fusiliers Harp Prize, as well as performing for HRH The Prince of Wales. As part of her studies, Freya participated in many masterclasses with eminent harpists such as Cathrin Finch, Sasha Boldachev, Imogen Barford, Isabelle Perrin and Brandee Younger.

 

 

Freya has performed with many orchestras around the country and in several prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Symphony Hall and St Davids Hall. She has previously performed as principle harpist for the RWCMD Symphony Orchestra and was a member of the CBSO Youth Orchestra. Freya now works as a freelance harpist with orchestras around the midlands, including Leicester Symphony Orchestra, Bardi Symphony Orchestra, Solihull Symphony Orchestra and many more.

 

Freya has won many awards and prizes from playing in festivals and competitions, including Dudley Music Festival, North London Music Festival, Bristol Festival of Music and Drama and Leamington Spa Music Festival.

 

Freya is available for tutoring, weddings, orchestral, solo and chamber concerts and other corporate events.
